Today, BCBS of North Carolina continues to offer residents of this state a myriad of coverage options, including:
- Blue Advantage: With this plan, members pay a small copay for prescriptions, emergency room services and office visits. Preventive care, including OB/GYN visits and pap smears, are also covered.
- Blue Options HSA: This plan goes along with a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). The HDHP plan allows consumers to choose a deductible as low as $1,100 for individual coverage, and some services are covered at 100% with no deductible required. The Health Savings Account works with the HDHP plan, allowing enrollees to put money into a special savings account to be used for future medical costs.
In addition, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina runs the Active Blue Van, which travels around the state promoting the importance of physical activity.
