Kaiser Permanente offers two Deductible/Coinsurance Plans, one with a $2,000 and the other with a $5,000 deductible. Maximum out of pocket expenses, not including deductibles, are $2,000 and $5,000 respectively. Coinsurance on both of these plans is 30%, after deductibles have been met, for most services. Coverage includes hospitalization, physical therapy, and office visits.
HSA Plans offer members the opportunity to save money on their taxes. Members contribute pre-tax dollars to Health Savings Accounts which they use to pay approved medical expenses. If there is any money, including interest, that is left in the Account at the end of the year, the money is rolled into the next year. Many people are able to use their HSAs as long term savings plans. Kaiser Permanente offers two HSA options, HSA Option (100%) and HSA Option (80%). Each option has a $2,000 deductible for an individual. After the deductible is met, members of the 100% plan do not have to pay any coinsurance. Members of the 80% option will have to pay 20% coinsurance. Services covered include office visits, hospitalization, and physical therapy.
